I think it must have been easier for men to connect their working and family lives when we were all artisans, tradesmen, warriors and farmers. Most of our jobs are now incomprehensible (or boring!) to kids. How many children do you know who want to be managers, Sales Executives or Quantity Surveyors when they grow up?
