Ok, so I’m a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle grump tonight…

It’s all over a meme.

The first, second and third times I was tagged with a meme, I was ecstatic. Someone out there thinks I’m interesting! By the 5th time, I was beginning to get a little jaded. I’m a busy guy. By the 7th, it was like, Can you tag someone else please?

I’ve lost count of the &$%*@! number of times I’ve been tagged over the last 18 months, so now that Mad Cow has tagged me this month, that number is basically &$%*@! + 1.

… [deep breath, calm yourself, Pete] but out of my deep respect for MC and for the sake of our collegiate alliance against the insanity that threatens all parents everywhere, I will comply and play along.

This time.

So here are the rules. (Let’s get them clear so I can break them.)

1. Mention the person who tagged you and create a link back to them.
2. Pick your month of birth.
3. Copy-paste the traits for all the twelve months (see below).
4. Highlight the traits that apply to you and if you would like write some wit or not.
5. Tag 12 people and let them know by visiting their blogs and leaving a comment for them. [12?! I don't even have 12 friends!]
6. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve done it!

I’m going to break rule #3 immediately and tell you to go visit Mad Cow’s post if you want the whole list. It’s about 15 pages long. My birth month is May (I accept Amazon vouchers in place of a gift folks, that’ll be fine) and my responses to the traits that May babies are supposed to exhibit are below…

Stubborn and hard-hearted. Hm, certainly stubborn. Hopefully not hard-hearted, unless it’s toward cats.

Strong-willed and highly motivated. Yeah.

Sharp thoughts. Well, my brain does hurt, so perhaps that’s the cause.

Easily angered: how can you tell?

Attracts others and loves attention. Yeah right. Strike one. I hate attention… Wait! Why are you clicking the back button! Stay here!

Deep feelings. Yeah, I’ll admit to that. Especially anger about being tagged with a meme.

Beautiful physically and mentally. Hah! Strike Two! Checked out my Postcard videos?

Firm Standpoint. Yep. Quite a few actually. “Boy, fetch me my soapbox!”

Needs no motivation. Not completely true. When I’m inspired, I’m fine but there’s times where I need a massive kick up the kaiber.

Easily consoled. Wellll, easily if you offer a compliment, a chocolate bar and an Amazon gift voucher.

Systematic (left brain). Hah! Strrrriiiiiiiiiiiii-iike! I believe that’s 3 and out! I am firmly balanced between the 2 hemispheres of the brain. So I’m systematic half the time! And the rest, I’m … like… not.

Loves to dream. Mm. That should read, Loves to sleep. (Actually I am a huge daydreamer and always have been).

Strong clairvoyance. Saw that coming.

Understanding. Understanding what?

Sickness usually in the ear and neck. Well I am deaf from playing drums. But the neck? My problem’s lower than that. (My back, people, my back!)

Good imagination. Yeah totally. For instance, I imagine this is interesting to all of you.

Good physically. Strike 4.

Weak breathing. And how does that fit with good physically? Huh? Huh? [pant gasp pant!]

Loves literature and the arts… Ok, so that’s true.

Loves traveling. Right again.

Dislike being at home. No. Happy to be home. Especially when I’m the only one there.

Restless… Sorry about the delay, I went for a walk.

Not having many children. Is two ‘many’? Some would say it’s too many. (Sorry. Dad Joke).

Hardworking. When I feel like it.

High spirited. About nerdy things like Monty Python and Nintendo Wiis, yes.

Spendthrift. No. My wife handles the money or we’d be broke. Hang on, we are.

Now one last thing. Should I or shouldn’t I perpetrate this meme, seeing as I personally don’t like them anymore? Shall I stand by my convictions or be a hypocrite?

Hmm, why don’t I make all  of you responsible for that (how’s that for immature?). If anyone out there LIKES being tagged and wants to be tagged, let me know over the next three days and I’ll tag you.
