Pieces of Gold, Pieces of Silver

January 16th, 2008 · 6 Comments

When you’re running low on time-to-think or time-to-write, do what the best TV show writers do (you know TV writers, the ones on strike?):

Do a Best-of episode…

Among my friends’ blogs are pieces of buried gold. Gold that I want to unbury. And then buried in this ‘ere blog are some less-valuable pieces of silver of my own that I will also bring to surface again for those who missed them first time round…

My Pieces of Gold from father-friends who blog:

  1. Fitting In (Podcast – “About the challenges of fitting in with other children and how bullies can leave a life long scar.”)
  2. Luke Football (“In this house, we obey the laws of thermodynamics.”)
  3. Another 10 Ways You Know You’ve Got a Toddler on Your Hands and How to Get it Off (“How would the cat react if I lay on top of him then pull out handfuls of fur?”)
  4.  I can’t compete with the Pussycat Dolls (“Another foreplay music video in this category is ‘My Humps,’ by the Blackeyed Peas. It’s so stupid that the first time I saw it, I thought it was parody.”)
  5. On Eating Sand (“That is what ‘yucky’ means, my son.”)

Pieces of silver from my own blog, the posts that I liked presenting the most in 2007:

  1. Human Tetris - Japanese Style

  2. C is for Chrissie, D is for Dunny

  3. What I’m Learning from Changing My Children’s School

  4. Suffering in Silence

  5. “Daddy, What Does #@&%$#!! Mean?”

  6. The Wisdom of Solomon

  7. Noise

(Sorry to the mommy bloggers, I’ll do my research and bring you in on this sometime soon)
