Man, ever since I watched Benchwarmers (literally 3 times in a row and maybe 3 times since), I’ve got Jon Heder’s voice saying “freakin’ awesome” going round and round inside my head.
I think I’m possessed…
Anyway. I thought this morning, “Odds are that someone somewhere in the world is having a bad day who might also stumble across my blog and value being cheered up or at least pointed to some helpful resources that could take some pressure off.”
I have long thoughts, don’t I? Not much punctuation going on in my head.
So you heavy-laden parent you, here’s some great posts I myself stumbled across this morning which have already made my day. Hope they make yours …
- Bad day at work? - man, you have to wait for this video to load. Even if you’ve seen some of this footage before, it’s gotta raise a smile today.
- Resources for Parents - BadDad’s pretty cool lists of helpful sites. I lost a stack of time exploring some of the kids stuff, reading Heroscape comics online, exploring the Smithsonian Institute and discovering some new podcasts.
- Coming soon… - despite the name, this post delivers virtual bubble wrap - pop to your heart’s content!

Actually, I must admit, that I felt empathy at a couple of points as well. I couldn’t help thinking “What’s going on for this person if they react like this.”
At the same time, I have the distinct feeling that these aren’t real.
The thing which actually made me laugh out loud was when the bloke takes a sledgehammer to his desk, the girl in the background just kind of shrugs and goes back to her work quite relaxed as if this is business as usual. (That was also my cue that these are faked. If someone starts running around the office with a sledgehammer, you’re not going to hang around to finish your typing).
Sorry if I upset you though Mich. Genuinely.

Actually I thought it looked like she reached for the phone - could be wrong tho. Not so much upset as just a bit “oh heck - I know how they feel”….
